The Forth Climate Forest is the largest tree-planting initiative in the Forth Valley. Working with landowners, local communities and partner organisations, the project aims to plant 16 million trees by 2033, alongside creating wildlife-friendly spaces such as wildflower areas and pollinator corridors.
As part of this wider initiative, UrbanPioneers Landscape Architects are working with residents across five areas of the Forth Valley (Raploch; Sauchie; Bainsford, Langless & New Carron; Grahamston, Middlefield & Westfield; Grangemouth) through a project called STEPSS — Strategy for Tree Equity and Pollinator Stepping Stones.
Emphasising the importance of community input into the planning process, the team highlighted: “Local knowledge is essential to making this strategy work. Residents know their streets and green spaces best, including how they are used, where improvements are needed and what issues should be considered.”
Their initial community engagement has created a Draft Planting Plan which is now open for review and community consultation to shape its development. To take part in the consultation, please complete the online Feedback Form (linked for your convenience) or email mail@urbanpioneers by Sunday 25 October 2026.
