Falkirk Council are conducting a 3-year review of the Falkirk Plan. As part of this, they are undertaking an online survey using the Participate Plus (P+) platform. Your insights and feedback are important in assessing the effectiveness of the Community Planning Partnership’s current strategies and themes and identifying potential areas for future development.
Communities are being encouraged to take a few moments to complete this online survey. Your responses will play a crucial role in shaping the direction of the Falkirk Plan and ensuring it meets the needs of our community and stakeholders for the next 3 years. Please complete the survey by 30 August 2024. Your participation is essential and greatly appreciated. Please note, they would encourage you to share this survey with colleagues and wider networks to maximise the response rate.
The Plan aims to have achieved the following outcomes by 2030:
Theme 1: Working in Partnership with Communities
- Communication with communities is improved.
- Community-led organisations are stronger and more independent.
- More decisions are made together at a local level.
- Social, community, and economic planning focusses on place, and reflects the needs and aspirations of the people that live there.
Theme 2: Poverty
- People of all ages have equal opportunity to access digital services and have the skills and confidence to safely participate online.
- Children and young people have equal access to participate.
- Individuals and families affected by poverty have access to joined-up, multi-agency support services, and know how and where to access them.
- Fewer people struggle with the costs of food, fuel, and transport.
Theme 3: Mental Health and Wellbeing
- There are fewer deaths due to suicide.
- Children and young people’s mental health services are well-resourced and have reduced waiting times.
- People struggling with their mental health can access support early in their journey, and services will adopt a whole-person approach.
- Fewer people struggle with feeling socially isolated or lonely.
Theme 4: Substance Use
- There are fewer drug-related deaths.
- Families affected by substance use are enabled to overcome issues related to stigma which prevents access to support.
- Fewer young people choose to use substances.
Theme 5: Gender-Based Violence
- Interventions for those experiencing, or at-risk of domestic abuse are early, effective, and inclusive.
- Victims of domestic abuse receive a joined-up offer of help until they are supported to safety.
- Front line staff have an increased awareness of issues related to gender-based violence.
- Men who carry out violence against women and girls are identified early and supported to change their behaviour.
Theme 6: Economic Recovery
- More wealth is retained within local communities and economic growth is inclusive.
- Following the declaration of a National Climate Emergency, the Partnership is leading Falkirk’s contribution to Scotland’s target to be net-zero by 2045 through a focus on green recovery.
- People have equal access to education, training, and employment that supports the local labour market.
Part 2 of The Community Empowerment [Scotland] Act 2015, details specific duties in relation to identifying, reporting, and publishing progress on local priorities. This includes a requirement for annual reporting of the Falkirk Plan as well as regular reviews of the suitability of the Plan. The 3-year review will examine the first 3 years of the Falkirk Plan and whether the content, themes, outcomes and indicators are still suitable and relevant.
