Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Carers Centre has a range of events and information sessions this autumn, with the next taking place:
- Wednesday 14th September: “Care with Confidence: Frontotemporal Dementia Carer Session”, 10:30am – 12pm, with Forth Valley Advocacy.
- These monthly sessions are open to carers of people with a confirmed diagnosis of Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD), providing information and support to carers in an informal setting. Professionals are also invited on a regular basis to talk about the clinical, social and legal aspects of care.
- This session with Forth Valley Advocacy (FVA) will look at the services FVA can offer to help carers and the people they care for, along with Advanced Statements, Non-Instructed Advocacy and other relevant services.
- Wednesday 21st September: Information Afternoon for Professionals, 2pm – 4:30pm
- These afternoons are for anyone who may come across carers in the course of their work (including new starts and students on placement), as well as anyone who would like to know more about the Carers Centre and their services.
- The sessions are designed as an opportunity to meet with the Carers Centre team and network with other professionals, as well as finding out how the Carers Centre works, carers rights and the Carers Act, and EPiC (based on the TURAS training).
Both sessions will be hybrid events, taking place online via Zoom, and in-person at the Carers Centre office in Falkirk. The programme for each session is linked above for your convenience.
