“Introduction to Web Development” Workshop

FreeAs part of the Ada Scotland Festival, QA is hosting a free online workshop designed to introduce girls and young women in Scotland to web development, taking place on Saturday 4 October, 10am – 2pm.
“The Ada Scotland Festival champions gender balance in tech and computing, providing inspiration for our young people and to build a stronger, fairer, more diverse work force of the future.”
Now in its sixth year, the festival runs Monday 29 September 2025 – Friday 10 October 2025, with a series of events scheduled around Ada Lovelace Day (ALD) in October. (ALD is an annual event held on the second Tuesday of October to celebrate and raise awareness of the contributions of women to STEM fields. It is named after mathematician and computer science pioneer Ada Lovelace, and in 2025, takes place on Tuesday 14 October.)

Part of QA’s Teach the Nation programme, “Introduction to Web Development” aims to be beginner-friendly, designed for those curious about coding, digital design, or careers in tech. No prior experience is needed, only a computer and internet connection.
Participants will:
- learn how websites are built using HTML and CSS
- create their own static web page
- gain insight into front-end development
- receive a certificate of completion
This workshop is open to girls and young women, and those who identify as female, living in Scotland.
