Carers Centre Professionals Information Afternoon

August 16, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Free

Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Carers Centre will be restarting their Professionals Information Afternoons next month, with sessions taking place 2pm – 4:30pm on:

  • Wednesday 16th August
  • Wednesday 20th September
  • Wednesday 18th October
  • Wednesday 15th November

Sessions are held via Zoom and in-person at the Carers Centre, 1A Bank Street, Falkirk, FK1 1NB, giving attendees the choice to attend virtually or not.

The sessions’ programme reflects some of the aims of the online (Turas) EPiC Training programme and National Occupational Standards, as outlined in the Competency Framework for health and social care staff. Attendees will also learn more about the Carers (Scotland) Act (2016), including:

  • how it is underpinned by UN Declaration of Human Rights
  • how it supports the role of a carer and aims to make caring more sustainable
  • its recognition of carers as Equal Partners in Care
  • its definition of a carer, which helps support services identify them

Attendees will be able to meet the Carers Centre team, who will outline the ways the Carers Act defines their work, along with how they can help attendees support unpaid carers they come into contact with through their own roles.

For further information, including the full session programme, please view or download the Information Leaflet as a pdf.
