Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Carers Centre’s next 2 Dementia Information Sessions for carers will take place on:
- Tuesday 30th August: Alzheimer Scotland
- Katharyn and Karen from Alzheimer Scotland will talk about the supports available in the community and online for people living with dementia, their carers and families in the Falkirk area. They will also explain the role of the Link Worker when someone is diagnosed with dementia. This session will include time for Questions and Answers.
- Tuesday 27th September: Shadowing and Sundowning
- Carers may notice that the person they care for becomes more confused and/or agitated in the late afternoon and evening; this is known as “sundowning”. This session will cover the steps carers can take to help reduce sundowning, for the benefit of the person they care for, as well as their own.
- “Shadowing” is a form of behaviour in which a person with dementia will follow their caregiver around; this session will also help carers learn how to manage this behaviour by gaining an understanding of why this occurs.
Both sessions take place 10:30am – 12:30pm, and carers have the option of attending via Zoom, or in-person at the Carers Centre, 1A Bank Street, Falkirk FK1 1NB.
To book your place (either online or in-person), support in accessing the Zoom sessions, or for further information (including future sessions), please contact Donna Mulder by phone: 07824 381280, or email: donnamulder@centralcarers.co.uk
