The Scottish Recovery Network (SRN) is hosting a learning & networking event for Forth Valley on Wednesday 17 September 2025, 2pm – 4:30pm at Forth Valley College (Stirling campus), Drip Road, Stirling, FK8 1SE.
This event is part of SRN’s wider project Creating Hope with Peer Support, which has 2 main aims:
- to increase the confidence and capacity of community-based organisations to deliver peer support for people affected by suicide
- to develop networks and increase the understanding of peer support and its impact, particularly those affected by suicide
To help meet these aims, SRN is hosting learning and networking events across Scotland; this event will focus on peer support happening across Forth Valley, and on the role that peer support can have in suicide prevention.
The first part of the session will feature a conversation with people from local organisations which advocate for peer support within communities. In the second, attendees will hear more about local suicide prevention delivery plans, eg. what stage they are at, and how people can be involved in their planning and delivery.
This event aims to provide a very relaxed and supportive atmosphere, and give people from the area the opportunity to learn more about peer support, hear what’s happening the in local area, and provide an opportunity to have some say and input to local suicide prevention planning and delivery. As part of these sessions, SRN is keen for people to feel like their lived experience is being heard and having an impact.
