The Compassionate Communities team at Strathcarron Hospice is hosting a Community Games Session, as part of Demystifying Death Week (which runs Monday 4 May 2026 – Sunday 10 May 2026).
The Community Games Session will take place at Strathcarron Hospice in Denny on Thursday 7 May 2026, bringing people together to take part in a range of interactive activities, including an escape room–style experience and games developed by Glasgow School of Art. These are designed to gently open conversations around people’s wishes, choices, and what matters to them regarding death.
The Compassionate Communities team is particularly interested in exploring whether these resources could be used within community groups in the future. They are looking to involve a small number of participants from across local networks to attend, take part in the games, and provide feedback on their experience. This might include people who:
- are comfortable engaging in discussion
- have an interest in their community and/or volunteering
- have experience of caring or supporting others
- may be open to sharing these activities within their own community groups
The team is also keen to involve younger participants (for example, young carers or young volunteers).
Please note that spaces are limited at the event in May, and booking is essential; however, as there is potential for these sessions to be developed further, anyone interested is encouraged to get in touch with the team to express their interest.
