Empower Women for Change’s “Bridging the Gap” project aims to help women from Black, Asian and ethnic minority (BAME) backgrounds and communities start their own business, providing free support and advice.
Empower Women for Change’s initiatives primarily focus on providing targeted and tailored support, advice, and training to help BAME women and girls into the entrepreneurship pipeline.
Through Bridging the Gap, they provide free mobile workshops and drop-ins with information and support to help BAME women and girls set up their own business, and raise awareness of entrepreneurship. Sessions will be designed to help participants learn new skills relating to entrepreneurship, but that can also be transferred to other sectors and areas of their life. The project aims to help overcome the barriers faced by BAME women and girls around cultural and language challenges, lack of resources and support, limited capital and experience.
The project includes a weekly drop-in session, every Tuesday 1pm – 3pm in Glasgow city centre (poster linked for your convenience), and is available for those from the Glasgow, Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire, Falkirk District and Edinburgh areas.
