If you live in Avonbridge, Standburn, Limerigg or Slamannan and are aged over 16, you can apply to the EDF Renewables Burnhead Moss Education & Training (BMET) Fund for a bursary grant to help you take part in any training or educational course you want to do.
It could be a short term course lasting a few days or weeks, such as First Aid, Food Hygiene or Forklift Driving. Or it could be a year-long course at College like an HND or HNC, or a degree at University. As long as the course is from a reputable training provider and results in some sort of qualification or certification, the BMET Fund can help.
To be eligible, you must have left school, have proof of address in one of the communities above, and have enrolled on the course or plan to do so. Grants range from up to £2000 for courses lasting one year or less, all the way to £6800 for five-year full-time degree courses. The fund can be used to help cover course fees or general expenses whilst studying. You can even get £100 towards your driving test if you’ve passed your theory and booked a date for it!
