Hosted by Children In Scotland’s ‘Supporting the Third Sector’ project team, there will be two introductory webinars held in 2026 providing an overview of the Scottish policy context relevant to the third sector’s work with children, young people and families. The sessions will involve an introduction to Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC), Children’s Rights, and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), before providing an exploration of how these key policies fit within the wider policy framework.
Taking place from 10am–12pm, on both Tuesday 20 January and Thursday 19 March, the key learning from these free webinars will include:
- Recognising the background to UNCRC and the four general principles
- Introducing key elements of the wider Scottish policy context, including the National Performance Framework
- Opportunity for attendees to reflect on their own practice.
