Children in Scotland is delivering a free online webinar for the third sector on Thursday 19 March 2026, 10am – 12pm, via Zoom, offering an introduction to Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC), children’s rights and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
“Exploring children’s rights and Scotland’s commitment to ensuring children, young people and families receive the right support at the right time.”
The webinar is delivered by the Supporting the Third Sector (STTS) project team at Children in Scotland, and aims to provide an overview of the Scottish policy context relevant to the third sector’s work with children, young people and families.
The key learning will include:
- recognising the background to UNCRC and the 4 core principles:
- Non-discrimination
- Best interests of the child/children
- The right to survival and development
- The views of the child
- introducing key elements of the wider Scottish policy context, including the National Performance Framework
- opportunity for attendees to reflect on their own practice
