The A B Charitable Trust (ABCT) provides grants for organisations working to promote human rights and social justice.
Through it’s ‘Open Programme’, the ACBT provides grants of around £10,000 – £40,000 per year, with awards available for between 1 – 4 years. Where possible, the Trust seeks to provide unrestricted funding, enabling organisations to respond flexibly to community needs.
To be eligible, organisations must have a mission, aims and objectives aligned with one of four priority areas:
- Human Rights Framework
- Access to Justice
- Criminal Legal System and Penal Reform
- Migrants and Refugees
Open to charities and voluntary organisations delivering advocacy, support services, campaigning, or community-based initiatives that advance rights and improve access to justice for disadvantaged groups, applications are considered in a two-stage longlisting process by the ABCT team. Eligible organisations must have operated for at least a year and be able to provide a full year’s audited or independently examined accounts.
The closing date for applications is Friday 29 January 2027, with funding decisions are expected in April 2027.
