A number of local groups and organisations from across Falkirk’s different sectors are offering warm spaces and refreshments this winter, including:
- Strathcarron Hospice’s Compassionate Communities team is compiling a database of community warm spaces and places offering free food or hot drinks, with some already included in the comments of the linked Facebook post.
- Stenhousemuir FC’s Warriors in the Community is working to provide a warm, safe and welcoming space for rest and refreshments to those in the local community, open Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:30am – 2:30pm at Tryst Community Education Centre in Stenhousemuir, with free hot drinks, biscuits and wifi.
- Bo’ness’ Riverview Church is offering a free warm space every Tuesday, 11:30am – 2pm, with warm meals, drinks and the opportunity to charge devices, work, or have a chat.
- The Canal Inn in Camelon, who is offering a FREE cup of tea or coffee to older people throughout November and December.
- Asda’s Winter Warmer initiatives, which include an offer for older people of soup, a roll and unlimited tea and coffees for £1 in any of its cafes, all day and every day throughout November and December, the current “Kids eat for £1” offer, and the “Community Cuppa” campaign in its cafes, with space for community groups.
