Suicide Prevention Scotland will hold the premiere of its new film, What I Want You to Know, on Tuesday 8 September 2026, at Tynecastle Park, McLeod Street, Edinburgh, EH11 2NL. Registration and refreshments will be available from 5:30pm, with the film showing 6pm – 7pm.

The film shares the story of Phil Wanless and his son Fraser, who died in 2021, and explores themes including trauma, relationships, substance use, isolation and suicide. What I Want You to Know follows Phil as he reflects on what Fraser was experiencing at the time of his death, and considers how greater understanding could help others who may be struggling.

The film will be accompanied by a resource pack exploring a range of themes from What I Want You to Know, designed to support further learning and discussion. The event may be particularly relevant to people working in suicide prevention and mental health, those with lived or living experience, people who have been bereaved by suicide, and anyone interested in developing their understanding of suicide prevention.
