In support of World Drowning Prevention Day, Water Safety Scotland and The Helix are hosting a free Water Safety Open Day event, to help people learn about water safety in a fun and interactive way.
The drop-in event takes place on Monday 25th July, 11am – 3pm, and is open to everyone, with no booking required.
There will also be interactive information stalls from organisations such as Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS), the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), Decathlon, and Scottish Swimming, amongst others.
In addition, the event features a programme of demonstrations, including:
- open water rescue demonstration from SFRS and Police Scotland
- Newfoundland rescue dogs in action from the Scottish Newfoundland Club
- Public Rescue Throw Bag challenge
- CPR and First Aid demonstrations
There will also be the opportunity to win a Fitbit Versa and Decathlon vouchers on the day.
