Volunteer Friendly Award Review Surveys

Posted on September 10, 2020

Volunteer Scotland is holding a review of the current Volunteer Friendly Award (VFA), in partnership with Volunteer Dundee, Dundee Voluntary Action and Third Sector Interfaces (TSIs) across Scotland.

They would appreciate hearing thoughts and ideas from a range of different volunteer-involving organisations and groups regarding VFA. They have created 2 surveys to gather this information:

  • one survey for organisations and groups who have achieved Volunteer Friendly, are working towards it or have otherwise engaged with it already
  • one survey for those who have not yet been involved

Volunteer Scotland will review the process and the current standard, ensuring it is inclusive and applicable to a wider range of volunteer programmes, incorporating findings from recent research and Investing in Volunteers UK review.

The new standard will encompass the same values and core practice of the current standard, and any new or current journeys or achievers will still be valid. All organisations renewing Volunteer Friendly Award in the future will be supported with any changes made to the standard and process.

Each survey will take around 10 – 15 minutes to complete; the deadline for responses to both surveys is Friday 2nd October.

All survey participation should be signed off by the organization or group and their local TSI, as Volunteer Scotland is working in partnership with them on this review.

To submit your response, please click on the relevant survey linked above.
