Go! Youth Trust has launched Thrive, a brand new programme developed to support young women aged 16 – 25 years old, particularly those struggling with anxiety, low confidence, loneliness or social isolation.
Funded by the Falkirk Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, the programme is split into three areas which include a weekly support group, one to one mentoring and outdoor adventures.
The weekly support group will meet on Monday afternoons. This informal session will focus on issues such as body image, relationships, anxiety and confidence. There will be an opportunity for those young people who wish to work towards qualifications with Go! Youth Trust to gain accreditation.
The young people will also be given a mentor who will meet regularly for a one to one conversation either in person, over the phone or online. This relationship will support the young person to set goals for their time on the programme and put together an action plan.
Regular outdoor activity days will provide young people the opportunity to grow in confidence and push themselves to new limits. The activity days will be led by the young people themselves, but could involve activities such as climbing, abseiling or canoeing.
