Forth Valley College is offering places on its Project SEARCH supported internship programme, based at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. The one year programme supports young people (aged 18 – 24 years old) with learning disabilities or additional support needs to develop employability skills and gain workplace experience.
Participants complete a range of work placements across the hospital, supported by a college lecturer, job coach and workplace mentors. The programme aims to build confidence, develop employability skills and help young people move into sustainable employment.
The internship is delivered through a partnership involving Forth Valley College, Falkirk Council, NHS Forth Valley and other partners, supporting young people to gain work experience and training. To be eligible, young people must:
- be aged 18 – 24 years old
- have a learning disability
- be a resident in the Falkirk Council area
- not currently be participating in other publicly funded provision
- be able to participate in work-based learning at SCQF Level 3
- be able to travel independently
- have good timekeeping and attendance
- be able to work well with others
- have the ability to progress to work within 12 months
- be available to attend Project SEARCH Monday – Friday, 9am – 4pm
