Scottish Government, COSLA and Public Health Scotland have announced the next stage of the online engagement events for the new Suicide Prevention Strategy for Scotland.
Early engagement has been conducted with individuals, groups, communities and organisations across the country, with organisers asking for views and ideas about what people thought was working well and what they would like to change. The response levels were extremely high, which has provided rich data to help them develop the next stage of engagement.
They are now asking key stakeholders (including partners, and local third sector and community groups) to identify and explore what might feature in the new strategy and action plan, and to test ideas and themes which have been pulled out of the early engagement.
This next stage focuses on “Promoting Suicide Prevention, Preventing Suicide, Providing Support”, with each event themed around a different life stage (reflecting how many organisations are structured):
- Children & Young People:

The events are open to groups and organisations who work with or support communities and people with lived experience of suicide.
