Strathcarron Hospice is running further online Storytelling sessions, and has also added a new Musical Memories event each month.
The sessions are designed to be relaxed and informal, providing some light relief from the current pandemic. They are open to everyone; you do not need to have a connection to the Hospice to attend.
The sessions all begin at 2pm via Zoom, on:
- Musical Memories: Thursday 15th April, Thursday 6th May and Thursday 10th June
These sessions are led by Tommy, a supporter of Strathcarron who has played in a band for many years and is keen to share his talents and love of music with others.
Tommy will play “Songs from the Decades” and encourage people to share any memories they have of the songs played. He will also welcome requests, which he will slot into a varied set of traditional and modern favourites.
People can sing along, or simply sit and listen, as they prefer.
The Zoom details (linked for your convenience) are the same for all Musical Memories session. (Meeting ID: 847 6375 7139; Passcode: 429273.)
- Storytelling: Tuesday 20th April, Tuesday 18th May, Tuesday 22nd June
Leading the Storytelling is Jean Currie, a volunteer with Strathcarron who will reminisce about “the good old days”. She will lead each session by telling a personal story, and is happy for people to just listen, but is hopeful that her reminiscing will spark memories in others which they may wish to share.
