The Self Management Fund closes for applications at 9am on Monday 22nd May 2023.
Third sector and community organisations in Scotland can apply for 2 grant types to support disabled people, people living with long term conditions, and unpaid carers to self manage:
- a small grant of up to £15,000 for up to one year
- a large grant of up to £120,000 for up to 3 years
In this round, £2 million is available to support projects which learn from the experience of people and:
- build on the resilience demonstrated by the third sector since 2020
- contribute to the recovery of health and social care services in the wake of the pandemic
- create opportunities to develop responsive services for the future
The Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (the ALLIANCE) administers the Self Management Fund (on behalf of Scottish Government) to third sector and community-based organisations across Scotland to develop self management activities. Now in its third round of the Resilience, Recovery and Development Cycle, the fund has granted over £24 million to 398 projects since it began in 2009.
This year, the fund’s priorities centre around projects which:
- provide support for disabled people and people living with long term conditions, and unpaid carers who experience disrupted care
or
- address the wider determinants of health so individuals are supported to live their lives better on their own terms, progress to employment, create and develop sustainable communities, and take a leadership role in preventing ill-health (as outlined in the Marmot Principles)
