Samaritans Scotland are looking to recruit people with lived experience of suicide to join their Lived Experience Advisory Group. Working on a freelance basis, the Lived Experience Advisory Group members will work with Samaritan Scotland staff to inform many different aspects of work, including their suicide prevention policy.
Lived Experience Advisory Group members will work with the Head of Policy & Communications and each other to discuss issues/challenges and opportunities relevant to Samaritans Scotland and people living in Scotland. Members will be expected to attend regular online meetings, read materials sent in advance and take part in group discussions – there may be tasks to complete between meetings.
Applicants will be passionate about suicide prevention in Scotland, have a collaborative approach and some experience using lived experience to influence change. This will be a remote opportunity, delivered fully online, with a time commitment of 3.5 hours per month. Members will be paid £75 per meeting including pre/post meeting tasks. This role will last 18 months with an option to extend for a further 6 months.
