Kinneil House is having a Doors Open Day on Saturday 28 September with a Roman twist!
The Antonine Guard, a living history roman reenactment group, will set up camp in the grounds of Kinneil Estate and engage with visitors on weaponry, armour and fighting techniques. Britannia XIV, a 14th Century Medieval reenactment group, will also be demonstrating crafts and skills of the time while bringing to life combat skills and training in a small arena throughout the day. And the Friends of Kinneil will be running craft activities suitable for all!
You will also be able to visit inside the house, with a self-guided walking tour featuring their renaissance period kitchen, stone room, 16th century painted rooms and the Antonine Wall exhibition.
The event will run from 10am-4pm and is completely free for all!
