An Independent Advisor Group (IAG) has been set up to review Police Scotland’s use of new temporary police powers to tackle COVID-19. They are looking to gather feedback from as many people as possible on their experiences.
Understanding and listening to the views and experiences of those impacted by use of the powers is central to the work of the IAG, which is keen to involve the voices of community and grassroots representatives and any groups that may be most impacted or disadvantaged by the use of these temporary powers.
A number of feedback and information gathering routes have been set up to support the IAG’s review, where people can submit their views, including:
- an online portal on the CitizenSpace website
- an email address:Covid19IndependentAdvisoryGroup@spa.pnn.police.uk
- a postal submission to the following address: COVID-19 Independent Advisory Group, c/o Scottish Police Authority, 1 Pacific Quay, Glasgow, G51 1DZ
The group is chaired by John Scott QC, and reports directly to the Scottish Police Authority (SPA).
The initial deadline for responses is Tuesday 1st September, but this may be reviewed and extended.
For further information, including a message from John Scott, please visit the CitizenSpace portal.
