A number of local residents have been recognised in the Queen’s 2020 Birthday Honours, including:
- Margaret Robertson MBE of the Shetland Fiddlers, who lives in Falkirk
- Margaret Coutts BEM, for her time with Falkirk and Central Scotland Samaritans and our local communities
- Ghulam Farid BEM and Shagufta Shamim BEM, previous owners of the Bowhouse Newsagent, for their work and support in Grangemouth during COVID-19
- Marlyn Gardner BEM at NHS Forth Valley, for her work supporting local communities during COVID-19
CVS Falkirk would like to congratulate each and every one of them, and thank them for the ways they have supported the Falkirk areas.
We were especially pleased to see Margaret Coutts honoured; Margaret was also recognised at our 2014 Volunteer Awards Ceremony, receiving the Provost Lifetime Achievement Award from then-Provost, Councillor Pat Reid. She then kindly came back to speak at the 2015 awards.
