Carers Scotland and Standard Life have joined forces to launch the first ever UK-wide Power of Attorney Day, which will take place on Wednesday 22 April 2026.
The initiative aims to raise awareness and understanding of Power of Attorney, and to encourage more people to put these in place. Solicitors for Older People Scotland (SOPS) has been invited to take part; as a local member of SOPS, Caesar & Howie solicitors will be getting involved across its office network.
There will be a series of drop-in sessions in Falkirk, Bo’ness and Alloa where Caesar & Howie staff will be on hand to provide free information and advice on the benefits of having a Power of Attorney in place.
- Falkirk office: Later Life Information Centre, 25 Newmarket Street, Falkirk, FK1 1JH, 10am – 2pm
- Bo’ness office: 54 South Street, Bo’ness, EH51 9HA, 10am – 12pm
- Alloa office: 27 Mar Street, Alloa, FK10 1HX, 2pm – 4pm
The drop-ins are open to everyone, including associated professionals with an interest. SOPS say:
“Many over 60s will quality to have their Power of Attorney and other important legal documents prepared for free – it costs nothing to check so please feel free to come along for a chat.”
