The Poverty Alliance’s Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) takes place this year on Friday 24th November, 9:15am – 4pm at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, 2 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, G2 3NY.
“#DrawingALine Under Poverty” will explore key aspects of the Minimum Income Guarantee (MIG), which aims “to provide everyone in Scotland with a minimum acceptable standard of living ensuring people have enough money for housing, food and essentials to allow them to live a decent, dignified healthy and financially secure life.” (Source: Scottish Government.) The conference will also look at how a MIG could be implemented, the effects it could have, and how groups and organisations can work together to create concrete action.
Shirley-Anne Somerville MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, has been confirmed as keynote speaker, alongside a line up of guest speakers and commentators.
Places are free, but early booking is advised, as last year’s event was oversubscribed.
