Playlist for Life is a music and dementia charity which promotes the benefits of personal music for people living with dementia, their carers and families.
With funding from CVS Falkirk (via the Falkirk Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund), they are working to build partnerships with local community groups and organisations who provide support to people affected by dementia, through the Falkirk Help Point network. Organisations offering free support are invited to join the Help Point network, and will be provided with printed materials, support and access to eLearning.
Playlist for Life has organised an online information session, via Zoom, on Wednesday 9th August from 11am, for existing contacts and people interested in becoming part of the network. To book your place, or for further information, please contact Mehar Shagufta by email: mehar@playlistforlife.org.uk
The Help Point network includes libraries, faith centres, dementia and carer support groups, GP and health centres, dementia link workers, befriending and reminiscence groups, sports clubs, fire and rescue teams, and police stations, amongst others.
Groups and organisations can also learn more about the benefits of personal playlist, and apply to join the Help Point network, via the Playlist for Life website (linked for your convenience).
Short videos of how people living with dementia and carers have benefited from using personal music are available via the dedicated Real Life Stories page.
