Falkirk Council’s Employment and Training (ETU) offers personalised support for parents in progressing their careers or with finding employment.
The Parental Employment Support Fund (PESF) programme is open to parents who are unemployed and looking to start work, or who are in work and looking to upskill, and who are:
- a lone parent
- a parent with 3 or more children
- parents from Black, Asian or ethnic minority (BAME) communities or backgrounds
- a parent aged under 25 years old
- a disabled parent
- a parent of a disabled child
- a parent of a child under one year old
- the parent of a child who has been offered Age 2 Early Learning and Childcare (ELC)
Through the PESF programme, participating parents will be assigned an advisor from EU, who will help them create a personalised plan, based on the support which will best help them progress into work or within their career. They will also receive:
- support to gain qualifications
- help with improving skills
- enhanced key worker support
- health and wellbeing support
- money advice
- CV building help
- job search and self-employment support
- access to childcare
