NHS Forth Valley has released their new draft Population Health and Care Strategy 2025-2035, setting out their vision to improve the health and wellbeing of local people across Forth Valley, over the next 10 years.
The draft Strategy sets out the following key ambitions:
- To enable the population of Forth Valley to live longer healthier happier lives, by investing in prevention and providing support to people who are ill at an earlier stage.
- To provide more health services and support in local communities, to make it easier for people to access the care you may require.
- To look at how we can improve everyone’s health and wellbeing, not just the patients we are currently seeing.
- To work with partner organisations to tackle some of the wider issues which affect health and wellbeing.
- To make the best use of the resources we have available to ensure we deliver the best value.
The draft Strategy has been developed following feedback from people who live in Forth Valley, local staff, primary care colleagues, patients, carers and partner organisations across Forth Valley over the last 2 years. It also reflects the strategic plans of both local Health and Social Care Partnerships (HSCPs), as well as key national and regional health plans and priorities.
Further engagement is also planned over the next 6 weeks to help inform the development of the final Strategy, to ensure it addresses what is most important to improve the health and wellbeing of local people and capture any additional ideas and suggestions.
In addition to the draft Strategy (linked for your convenience), NHS Forth Valley has created a short slide pack which summarises the Strategy.
