Third sector staff across Scotland are invited to attend a free online Missing Awareness Training session, facilitated by Missing People, the UK charity supporting missing children and adults and their loved ones.
Taking place via Microsoft Teams on Thursday 27 August 2026, 10am – 11:30am, this short training session is designed to help participants increase their understanding of missing persons issues, and explore how organisations can build on existing good practice within their local communities.
The session will cover:
- identifying indicators that someone may be at risk of going missing
- exploring best practice responses to support individuals who have returned from a missing episode, and approaches to preventing future missing episodes.
- raising awareness of the National Missing Persons Framework and the services available through Missing People, including the charity’s new SafeCall service for children and young people
This training is particularly relevant for staff and volunteers working with vulnerable children, young people and adults, as well as organisations involved in health, wellbeing, homelessness, community support, justice, and safeguarding.
The session is free to attend, funded by Scottish Government as part of the National Missing Persons Framework Implementation Project. Our team at CVS Falkirk & District encourages third sector organisations across Falkirk District and beyond to take advantage of this valuable learning opportunity.
