Falkirk Council is continuing its programme of updating its Supplementary Guidance, in association with the Falkirk Local Development Plan 2 (LDP2), which was adopted in August 2020.
Supplementary Guidance (SG) offers more detailed guidance and expands upon existing policies and proposals contained in the LDP2.
They are now consulting on SG11 Frontiers of the Roman Empire (Antonine Wall) World Heritage Sites (linked for your convenience).
SG11 was first prepared in 2010 jointly by the 5 local authorities (West Dunbartonshire, East Dunbartonshire, Glasgow, North Lanarkshire, and Falkirk) covering the Antonine Wall, to support the implementation of development plan policies relating to the World Heritage Site.
This revised document is being adopted separately by each local authority (with separate consultation processes), and makes some minor changes to the guidance to enable clearer understanding, as well as updating the list of resources to enable each local authority to convert the guidance to statutory Supplementary Guidance. The document will form part of each Council’s Local Development Plan.
Anyone can comment on the draft Guidance, but the consultation is particularly relevant to people who may be looking at development in and around the World Heritage Site. (This may include housing and commercial developers and householders.) Other interested parties may include local interest groups who support the work of the local authorities and Historic Environment Scotland in protecting and enhancing the World Heritage Site.
The deadline for responses is Friday 1st April.
