Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) Forth Valley’s “First Time for Everything” Project is holding a free Introduction to Wild Swimming on Friday 19th August.
The session will take place at Loch Lubnaig with Wild Wimmin, who have also arranged transport for up to 8 people, with pickups in Alloa and Stirling, along with hot soup, extra clothing and equipment on the day. There is no pressure to do anything other than dip your toes in the water.
Public toilets, and a café, are also available at the loch.
The First Time for Everything Project is a collaborative between RVS and the People’s Postcode Lottery, providing people with opportunities to try something new for free in their local community, and is aimed particularly at those aged 55 years old and over, or who have underlying health conditions. The activities available support physical and mental health and wellbeing, and digital literacy, “because staying active and social have been proven to be important to keeping fit and well as we age”.
Booking is essential, and all participants must sign a waiver to confirm they have read the safety information and give their consent to take part.
