Volunteer Scotland’s Disclosure Services team has released an important information notice regarding Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme memberships, on behalf of Disclosure Scotland.
The information notice highlights the importance of informing Disclosure Scotland when a PVG member stops doing regulated work within your organisation. This helps to ensure that you are compliant with data protection legislation and do not process information relating to individuals you no longer have a regulatory right to access.
Disclosure Scotland can provide you with a list of PVG Scheme members connected with your organisation for you to review, update and return to Disclosure Scotland.
To ensure your data continues to be up to date and current information is held, organisations should adhere to their own leavers process for individuals in regulated work and notify Disclosure Scotland’s dedicated team.
To view the full notice, or for further information (including how to request a list from Disclosure Scotland, and which procedures to follow in the event of someone leaving your organisation), please visit the Volunteer Scotland website.
