Scottish Wildlife Trust have a unique volunteer opportunity available on Handa Island, Sutherland.
Volunteers will travel to Handa to stay there for one month and assist existing staff and volunteers. Activities will include welcoming visitors to the island from their ferries, giving introductory talks, and ensuring all visitors depart Handa Island safely. Helping out with usual domestic duties that come with communal living whilst on Handa will also be expected.
If you have availability for one full month, a can-do attitude, are willing to live and work as part of a close-knit team, and are a confident public speaker, this could be an ideal role for you.
Volunteers will be appointed on an ongoing basis.
Please note travel to Handa by public transport is extremely difficult – volunteers may wish to consider applying in pairs (eg. as a couple, or friends) and travelling together by car.
If this opportunity is of interest to you, please visit the Scottish Wildlife Trust website to read a full role description and application form.
