Go Forth & Clyde is seeking 6 enthusiastic Repair Shop Volunteers who would like to pass on their skills to the community in their new project.
They are looking for volunteers who would like to help others learn new skills – this includes people who are just starting a new activity and would like to learn more, and those with skills and hobbies they have been doing for years and would like to show others.
The Repair Shed at Lock 16 will be developing groups in various making and fixing activities, including (but not limited to):
- bike repair and maintenance
- wood working and making things with recycled wood
- DIY and using tools safely
- small items repair
- rope work and knots (for boaters and others)
- boat maintenance
- clothing repair and using a sewing machine
This is a brand new project so there is room for volunteers to contribute towards new ideas and forming new groups. Training will be provided. The opportunity is open to those aged 16 years and over (young volunteers can also claim their Saltire Awards).
