Falkirk Council’s Community Advice Services offer free, confidential and impartial support for people living in the Falkirk District area who are worried about money, benefits, rent, council tax, or other financial pressures.

These services are designed to help people understand their options and access the right help for their situation, and include:

Debt Advice

Free support to help people manage debt and budgeting, with advice on rent, council tax, utility bills and other arrears, help to understand repayment options, and deal with creditor contact.

Welfare Benefits

Advice is available to help people understand benefit entitlement and access the support they may be able to claim, including Universal Credit and other welfare benefits, disability benefits and changes in circumstances, benefit checks, income maximisation, redeterminations and appeals.

Advice and Support Hubs

Local Advice and Support Hubs across the district aim to help people access information, practical support and self-service facilities. This includes Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction information, and support with Local Housing Allowance and Discretionary Housing Payment. There is also help available with Free School Meals, Clothing Grants and the Scottish Welfare Fund.
