Understanding Transgender Peoples’ Experience of Domestic Abuse

LGBT Youth Scotland has funding to provide free training on Understanding Transgender Peoples’ Experiences of Domestic Abuse in Edinburgh on 21st May,  9:30am – 4pm. The venue will be confirmed closer to the time.

Training will cover:

  • understanding transgender identities, language and terminology
  • the impact of transgender people’s experiences of domestic abuse
  • homophobia, biphobia and transphobia, and the impacts on transgender people’s experiences of abuse and services
  • good practice when working with transgender people, including signposting

The training is aimed at statutory workers in health, housing, policing, the criminal justice system and social work, as well as third sector organisations providing support, advice or information.
