Realistic Medicine Falkirk Event
September 26, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
FreeCare Opinion Scotland, NHS Forth Valley, and the Scottish Ambulance Service are hosting a Realistic Medicine event, “It’s Okay to Ask About Your Care and Treatment”, on Monday 26th September, 10am – 1pm at Falkirk Library, Hope Street, Falkirk, FK1 5AU.
Realistic Medicine is a national initiative aiming to ensure people using healthcare services, and their families, are encouraged to discuss their treatment with healthcare professionals, and ask why they’ve suggested a particular test, treatment or procedure. It also aims to ensure patients are fully informed about their care, including any risks and benefits, and that decisions are made jointly with their healthcare team.
Representatives from NHS Forth Valley, Scottish Ambulance Service, Care Opinion Scotland, along with a clinical representative from Children with Exceptional Healthcare Needs, will be available to talk about the principles of Realistic Medicine, and why it’s important to ask questions and be more involved in your care, at the Falkirk event.
The event is a drop-in; no booking is required.
