Poverty Alliance Member Seminar: Rural and Islands

The Poverty Alliance is organising a series of member seminars to discuss Scotland’s next Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan, including an online seminar on Wednesday 4 June 2025, 2pm – 4pm, focusing on rural and island communities in Scotland.

This session, which takes place via Zoom, is part of the Poverty Alliance’s efforts to ensure  that these conversations reflect the specific experiences of, and challenges and opportunities facing, rural and island communities when it comes to tackling child poverty.

Attendees will hear from 2 expert speakers to discuss the extent to which the current plan reflects the experiences of children and families in rural and island communities, what needs to change, and how the next plan can deliver for rural and island Scotland.

The Poverty Alliance hopes the seminar will be an opportunity for attendees to feed into the development of Scotland’s next Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan, sharing their insight and expertise on these policy areas and the action needed.
