February 27 @ 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
FreeMake Your Mark is holding their second annual Volunteer Managers Conference with their focus being on how to support a range of volunteers with abilities and needs. The conference is taking place on Thursday 27th February 2025, 9am – 4:30pm in Stirling, with the option to attend in-person or online.
Make Your Mark is a campaign to increase the number and diversity of heritage volunteers in Scotland – by heritage, they mean built, natural, cultural and intangible heritage. Make Your Mark is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
For their second annual conference, aimed at all volunteer-involving organisations, they will be focussing on how to support a range of volunteers with varying abilities and needs, through a combination of informative talks, interactive workshops and panel discussions covering various topics.
The in-person conference will take place at The Engine Shed (close to the Vue Cinema), Forthside Way, Stirling, FK8 1QZ. Topics on the day will include:
- the importance of inclusive leadership in supporting volunteer programmes
- trends in culture and heritage volunteering in Scotland: the data picture
- tow to fund inclusive volunteer programmes
- supporting older volunteers who have to stop volunteering due to age-related reasons
- inclusive group volunteering for people with support needs
- lived experiences of people from a diverse range of communities who have tried out heritage volunteering
Mark Your Mark hopes the conference will provide an exciting opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with like-minded volunteer managers.
