Living Wage Foundation Webinar

FreeAhead of the new Living Wage rates announcement in late October 2025, the Living Wage Foundation is hosting a series of webinars to help organisations understand the Living Wage rates, how they are calculated and implemented, and what’s in store for the 2025/26 rates.
About the Living Wage
The Living Wage calculation includes a “basket of goods” which reflects public consensus on what is needed for a dignified socially acceptable standard of living.
The basket of goods includes items such as bills, food, broadband, transport and ad hoc expenditure such as a birthday card for a family member. Different groups of people feed into this public consensus.
This basket of goods forms the basis of the calculation of the hourly wage. This data is then weighted according to the incidents of household type, and takes into account tax and benefits.
Accredited Living Wage employers are encouraged to implement the yearly rates increases as soon as possible after they are announced. However, the Living Wage Foundation offers employers a 6-month window to make the changes, in recognition of the fact that implementation can take some time.
Webinars
During these webinars, the Foundation will be sharing information about the calculation methodology, sending tips on how to implement the new rates and understand what is driving changes to the rates this year. They will also share the likely trajectory of the 2025/6 rates as soon as they are able to.

- “Briefing: Initial indication of the 2025-26 real Living Wage Rates trajectory”: Wednesday, 13 August 2025, 1pm – 1:30pm
In this short briefing, attendees will hear from Katherine Chapman (Director of the Living Wage Foundation) and Jess Goble (Head of Operations & Insight), who will offer an initial indication of the trajectory of the 2025/26 real Living Wage rates.
The session will also include an overview of the real Living Wage methodology, and there will be time for questions at the end.
- “What are the pressures influencing the 2025-26 real Living Wage Rates?”: Thursday 25 September 2025, 1pm – 1:45pm
Attendees will hear from Katherine Chapman on the specific pressures influencing the 2025/26 rates, and the trajectory of the real Living Wage methodology in the years ahead. Further content and speakers will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
