Household Hardship Fund Launch
November 22, 2022
FreeThe Household Hardship Fund, administered by Corra Foundation on behalf of the National Lottery Community Fund, will open to applications on Tuesday 22nd November.
The fund will provide grants £500 – £5,000 to local groups, who will pass the money on in cash or vouchers directly to local families and individuals in need. Applicants should already be supporting families and individuals on low incomes through other activities (this might include projects such as: children’s groups, lunch clubs, churches or faith groups, youth groups, food pantries or foodbanks).
The fund is open to:
- charities, constituted community groups and registered social enterprises with an annual income under £100,000
- groups with strong relationships within their community and who are already supporting people on low incomes
- groups which can demonstrate how they will distribute cash or vouchers directly to local families and individuals in need
Cash and vouchers could support families and individuals with:
- food and essential items
- fuel and energy costs
- warm clothing
- phone vouchers or internet costs
Groups and organisations should consider their capacity to distribute cash and vouchers directly to those in need before applying.
Those interested in applying are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, as decisions will be made as applications are received. This fund will close when enough applications have been received to fully use the money available. This is anticipated to happen quite quickly, as demand is expected to be high.
