“Growing Up is Never Easy”: Conflict Resolution Session

FreeThe Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution (SCCR) has released their November schedule of free online events, which includes their Conflict Resolution Session Series on the dates below.
“Anxious and Afraid”, on Tuesday 2nd November at 12pm for professionals, and on Tuesday 23rd November at 12pm for parents and carers
The “Anxious and Afraid” sessions explore anxiety and stress. They aim to help attendees relate to the emotional state of being anxious and afraid, and be able to explore the science behind this state, in order to improve individual wellbeing.
The first session is designed for professionals, practitioners and volunteers who work with young people and families, while the second is aimed at parents, carers and families.

“Family Conflict Triggers”, 12pm on Tuesday 9th November
Aimed at parents, carers and families who want to recognise conflict triggers which have the potential to escalate within a family context, in order to address them more effectively or seek appropriate support.
After the session, attendees should be able to recognise and manage these daily triggers.

“Growing Up is Never Easy” event for parents and carers at 12pm on Thursday 18th November
Exploring the concept of “growing up”, this session is designed for parents, carers and families who want to learn more about disputes to a peaceful conclusion and to support young people with a better understanding of their developmental needs.
Following the session, attendees should be able to explore the developmental stages of young people, reflect and consider their own role in managing these stages, and respond and support young people due to a better understanding of their needs.

“Conflict Response Styles” on Wednesday 24th November at 2:30pm
Aimed at professionals, practitioners and volunteers who work with young people and families, this session explores how people respond to conflict situations and why.
Attendees should learn how to recognise the different ways people respond to conflict, understand why everyone responds to conflict differently, and self-reflect on their own conflict response style.
