Free Upskilling Event on Community Buildings

Scottish Power is running a free, practical upskilling event on how to make community building more sustainable, taking place Thursday 19 June 2025, 11am – 3pm, at The Glue Factory, 22 Farnell Street, Glasgow, G4 9SE. (There will be a free bus provided from George Square to the venue.)

This event has been designed to inspire and empower community representatives, providing them with the knowledge and tools needed to start their building refurbishment journey.

Speakers from Energy Saving Trust (EST) and Built Environment Smarter Transformation (BE-ST) will share guidance and advice to help successfully improve and future-proof community buildings.

The event aims to cover the basics of assessing community buildings, and explore different ways to make it more energy-efficient and sustainable. Through case studies and interactive workshops, the event aims to allow attendees gain practical insights and skills to help move forward with their project.

The event will include:

  • introduction theory and case studies
  • Q&A with experts from EST and BE-ST
  • practical workshops on insulation and retrofit measures
  • a networking lunch
