Early Stage Dementia Awareness Training
May 10, 2016
FreeAge Scotland’s Early Stage Dementia Project has developed an in-depth “Introduction to Dementia” training session, open to those who work and volunteer in the third sector, as well as members of the public.
Through this session, Age Scotland want to improve knowledge of dementia and memory loss. They will also include information on how staying active in later life can help reduce the risk of dementia, or slow the progress for those living with the condition.
The training session will cover:
– What is dementia?
– Signs and symptoms
– Communication hints and tips
– Diagnosis and living well with dementia
– Staying independent with dementia
This session will last for 4 hours; alternatively, a shorter overview is available, which lasts around 2 hours and can be arranged with the Early Stage Dementia team. Booking for both session types is essential.
To book your place, or for further information, please contact the Early Stage Dementia team by phone: 0333 3232400, by email: ESDTeam@agescotland.org.uk
