Carers Parliament 2025
October 30, 2025
FreeThe annual Carers Parliament, organised by Carers Scotland, will take place on Thursday 30 October 2025, offering unpaid carers in Scotland a vital platform to speak directly with national and local decision-makers.
This year’s event looks ahead to 2026 and beyond, focusing on how to improve carers’ lives in the context of the upcoming Scottish Parliament election and the recently passed Care Reform Bill, including the right to a break. The parliament will also look to address the main priorities for unpaid carers and how their lives can be improved.
The event will be hybrid, taking place both online and in-person at the Apex Grassmarket Hotel, Edinburgh. However, as of August 2025, in-person places are fully booked. If you would like to attend in person, please indicate this when booking an online place, and you will be added to the waiting list for an in-person place.
Invited speakers include Tom Arthur MSP, Minister for Social Care and Mental Wellbeing, and COSLA’s Health and Social Care Spokesperson, Councillor Paul Kelly. Both have confirmed their attendance.
Carers attending in person can claim expenses for travel, replacement care, accommodation (if needed), and subsistence. Please note the event will be photographed and filmed.
The Carers Parliament 2025 is funded by Scottish Government, and supported by Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks.
