Care with Confidence – Evening Zoom Sessions: “What does dementia mean to you?”
January 31, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
FreeFalkirk and Clackmannanshire Carers Centre is bringing back their Care with Confidence sessions, and Information Afternoons for Professionals, with dates announced through to March, including their Care with Confidence – Evening Zoom Sessions.
Taking place online via Zoom to support those carers who cannot attend the daytime or in-person Care with Confidence dates, sessions take place on:
- Tuesday 31st January, 6pm – 7:30pm: “What does dementia mean to you?”
- Ruth Gardiner, Occupational Therapist from the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), will be joining the session to give an overview of some of the main forms of dementia, how they might affect the brain, and the sorts of challenges that might pose for the person living with dementia and their families.
- Tuesday 21st February, 6pm – 7:30pm: “Dementia, Delirium, Depression”
- Dementia, delirium, and depression are different from one another, but it can be hard to distinguish between them because their signs and symptoms may be alike. Sometimes a person has more than one of these conditions at the same time. This session will cover the different signs and symptoms of these conditions, to help people ensure they get the correct professional diagnosis and help.
- Tuesday 28th March, 6pm – 7:30pm: “Dementia – A Friendly Home Environment”
- Vivienne Thomson will be attending the session to discuss helpful tips, room by room, on how to modify your home to make it safe and friendly for those living with dementia.
