In addition to the Parental Employment Support Fund (PESF) for unemployed parents (and those facing in-work poverty), Falkirk Council has now launched their Disabled Parental Employment Support (DEPESF) and ELC Boost Fund.
Part of PESF, this funding supports disabled parents, young parents under 25 years old, and parents of children aged 2 years old in ELC-funded nursery places, in finding work and boosting their skill sets.
As with the PESF, there is support for parents who face barriers to progressing their careers, including help to gain qualifications, improving skills or work experience, money advice, and motivational support.
Those eligible will work with a dedicated advisor to help them to progress their work ambitions and guide them to other available support.
To qualify for PESF (including the new DEPESF and ELC funding) support, people must be in any of the following categories:
- lone parent
- be a parent with 3 or more children
- come from a Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) background
- their youngest child is under one year old
- they are a parent aged under 25 years old
- they are a disabled parent
They must also have the right to live and work in the UK.
